Don't know if I'll be able to explain but I'm going to give it a try. I have Photoshop elements 10 and have hit something to change the way the document view looks. Before I used to be able to see a black border that would be the border of the document size and the area outside of that would be gray i believe called the pasteboard. I no longer see that gray area no matter what I do. Please help.

Hello,

You can try resetting the Photoshop Elements preferences as follows:

  • Press Ctrl/  Cmd + K.
  • Click on Reset Preferences on next launch as highlighted below:

  • Click OK and restart your application.

This would reset all the settings to default options.

Get back with the screenshot of application in case issue isn't resolved yet.

Thanks,

Arshla

Here is a screen shot. The document is not surrounded by a gray what I call

pasteboard area. If the picture wasn't on this screen I would not be able

to see the boundry of the document area (size). I have tried to reset the

preferences which didn't result in the correct change.

Your screenshot doesn't show.

Adobe forums don't accept email attachments so you need to use the Insert Image button here on the forums.

I got it figured out. I deleted the preferences file and started over.

Thanks.
