I have scanned several hundred in order to digitize them utilizing a Wolverine unit. Then, I have enhanced them in PSE. You will probably encounter some degradation due to aging.
The unit has a camera card which allows for ready transfer to the computer, EHD, burn CD's.
There are many units available, and there are vendors who will do it for you.
