Does Elements 2021 store anything on the Cloud?

I want nothing to do with iCloud so does all my work stay on my computer, including Elements 2021 itself

The short answer is yes.  Elements 2021 has a trial feature that is only available to a limited number of users which allows you to save photos in the Adobe Cloud.  But this is merely an optional feature and you can save your files only on your computer.  Because of this new trial feature, a copy of the Creative Cloud app is installed on your computer.  But you can entirely ignore it.  There is some debate around here whether it is possible to remove the application without affecting the Elements program itself.

Apologies for the late reply and many thanks for providing an answer. There
shouldn't even be a debate about whether or not removing this software
without affecting the Elements programme. It shouldn't be there by default
in the first place and if it is essential for the operation of Elements
then it should be clearly stated before purchase. I wanted the disc version
of Elements and it was only after I purchased it from the Adobe website
that I find out is a digital download. Apparently the disc version is not
available from Adobe's website but there's no warning of this. Every time I
use Elements I get a prompt asking me to "sign in" and when I shut the
prompt down I get another one asking me if I mean to quit.

Being download software has NO CONNECTION with storing your files in the cloud. 

Signing in to use the software (even if it's a bad thing) has NO CONNECTION with storing your files in the cloud. 

Even if it did store in the cloud, Adobe apps do not use iCloud. So you wouldn't be using iCloud.

Thank you for the confirmation. However, your last sentence, "Even if it

gives cause for concern. Either information is stored or it isn't, and if
it is then why? Too much information is captured by default and without our
knowledge these days. I recently tried to disable some cookies only to
find on closer inspection in excess of 100 additional sites were also
involved other than the few shown on the original list. Hidden among the
additional ones were some already activated by default to collect
information. So much for claim by the original website of protecting my
data!

Hello!  I just happened to run into your thread about Adobe asking you to "sign in" when you use Elements 2021.  I respect your reluctance to be in the cloud - some people love it, others hate it.  I myself try to stay away from anything in the cloud too.

I just purchased Elements 2021 a few weeks ago and used it for the first time 3 days ago.  It was quite an experience because everything is so different from what I'm used to with Elements 7 and PS CS6.

To your point: The reason I'm writing this is because when I tried using the Expert option, I also got a "you must sign in to your Adobe acccount" message (if I remember correctly, I think that's what it said) Which I did, to be able to use that option. 

So I'm wondering if that's what you're talking about? Seems like if we use that Expert option we will have to sign in and stay signed in.

I'm a Mac user so the presentation of information might be different from
that on a PC and Elements 21 is a big change from the very old Elements I
used previously which required no sign in. That said, yes I always use the
Expert Mode and always get a prompt saying "Sign in required" with my Adobe
ID. This is to accept Adobe's Terms & Conditions for using the software.
The window can be closed which means that you're opting out of the T's &
C's. The software can still be used and apparently without loss of
facilities. In which case why are we asked to Sign in with our Adobe ID
unless it's to give Adobe the authority to share information. Normally if
you don't accept a company's T's & C's you can't use the service.
Businesses only pay lip service to data protection because if their T's &
C's allow for the data to be passed on to others so too is the
responsibility and you're completely reliant on the others to look after
your data and so on down the line. It's all been left to get completely
out of hand so we just have to be more vigilant.

I have Creative Cloud on my Windows 10 desktop, but have not knowingly saved anything to this. When I open the Cloud folder , this shows up:

You have no cloud documents

Instead of syncing files to your desktop or another cloud storage service, create a cloud document for seamless, instant editing and saving across Mac, Windows, and iPad. On the way: collaboration and other features.
