does photoshop elements 13 use smart objects? I am trying to apply a logo to a mock up template and can't figure out how to do it

I have photoshop elements 13 and am trying to use the smart object function, but I can't find it. I am trying to apply a logo I created in illustrator to a mockup template. Thank you!

Try this:

Open the "mockup template"

Go to File>Place and point to the logo that you have created. It should come in on a separate layer.
