Drag and drop is copying files instead of moving them

I am using PSE 15 Organiser and have always moved photos and or photos/folders to different folders within it by dragging and dropping.  For some reason it has started making a copy of the pictures and or folders I drag, ie leaving a copy of the folder and pictures where it came from, and also putting a copy in the new location.

Hi,

Which operating system are you running on?

I'm assuming you are looking at the Folder views and not the Albums view.

In the folders view, are you using Tree view or List view?

Have you checked the file info for both copies?

Brian

I am operating on Win 8.1.

Yes I am using the Folders Tree view.  I have checked the file info for both copies and it is identical.  I had been moving some folders/pictures, then basically moved the next ones pretty much straight away and it copied them instead of moving them.  I went to move the folder below the one I had just moved but the folder and all its contents were still there.

Is there a way the default or settings can be changed so you copy instead of move.  It is the only thing that makes sense to me although I did not actually do anything that could of change the settings anyway.  But it is all I can think of.

Hi,

Good to hear all is well - another of the great computer mysteries - I think computers are trying to take over the world.

There was a problem once that slowed down the refresh of a screen. You can force a refresh by using F5 or change the size slider.

Good luck

Brian
