dropdown menus don't work in elements 14

I upgraded to photoshop elements 14. I am unable to use nearly all of the dropdown menus. After I select a menu and try to scroll down to the task I need the cursor gets bounced over to another menu. At this point I'm unable to effectively use the program. Would appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Janet

Launch the Editor and try updating the saved prefs from the menu bar:

Edit >> Preferences >> general (tab)

Click the button to reset preferences on next launch. Then quit and re-launch Elements.

On Mac OS preferences can be found under the Elements Editor menu (top-left)

Hi 99jon,

Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this. I tried this but I'm still having the problem. Other features aren't working either, e.g., when I double-click on the image in the layers menu to open the Layer styles menu nothing happens. When I go the the layers tab I'm unable to select any of the options because I get bounced out of the menu.

Any other ideas? Much appreciated.

Janet
