Dropdown not working

New Here ,
Nov 09, 2017 Nov 09, 2017

Hi I'm a complete novice at this so please excuse me. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago the drop-down menu ie File/Edit/Image/Enhance etc would not open properly. Clicking or Hovering over it just gives me a skinny long box which I can't click on to. I uninstalled it and installed again and it worked fine now two weeks later its gone again. I don't wont to keep uninstalling so anyone have any suggestions please. Keep it simple as I'm really not good at this

I am not sure it's the problem, but there has been a lot of users who got similar symptoms after an (automatic) update of Windows 10 Creator. There was a change in the way Windows managed the fonts cache. Reinstalling fonts did work, but as soon as you reboot your computer, the newly installed fonts disappear... Microsoft announced that the issue would be resolved in an upcoming 'Fall edition' update. If you have not yet updated, check if your current Win version is '1709'. If you want to start it manually, be aware that it takes two or three hours. Several reports confirm it does solve the problem. I can't confirm myself, since I don't have problems with fonts.
