edit delays with spinning cursor

We found that the sctrach disk was causing PSE to give the spinning cursor every few seconds causing us unable to do any edit or drawing. There was also no way to disable the active scratch disk short of ejecting it. But we need the disk. This happens with 2021 PSE.

Will there be a fix for this version, we assume it is true for even the latest version.

Can you post a screenshot of your preferences in the editor?

menu edit >preferences> scratch disk ? What kind of disk is (are) your scratch disk(s) ? SSD, conventional or removable ?

While you are at it, a screenshot of the first 20 lines of the dialog you get from Help > System information?
