Editing dark and light tones

In Elements 10 there is a specific guided option under "Color and Lighting" called "Lighten or Darken" where you can target specifically dark or light areas to modify; what option in Elements 18 come closest to this feature?

Menu Edit >> Enhance >> Adjust Lighting, Shadow/highlight.

My advice: try using the ACR raw plugin. It works not only on raw files, but also on jpegs, tiff, psd...

You don't get all the advantages of the raw format, but it's much more flexible than the above menu in the Editor.

(use Open in Camera raw ...)
