Does anyone know how or if it is possible to get element 11 to accept NEF files in windows 11 64 bit?

NEF is a family of file formats for Nikon cameras. Each NEF file is unique to each Nikon model.

So, to answer your question, we need to know which Nikon model your NEF files come from.

That said, Elements 11 is 10 years old. So, if you're using a recent model Nikon, it's likely not supported by the Elements 11 Raw plugin. However, you can convert to DNG and open the DNG file in Elements 11.

I have a D7100  it was working with windows 10 on my old machine.

Photoshop Elements 11 supports up to Camera RAW 7.4, which is what your Nikon D7100 NEF files require.

PSE 11 comes with Camera RAW 7.1 installed, so you need to update Camera RAW to 7.4.

I am not at home at the moment and so haven't looked to see how easy/difficult it is to find/update to Raw 7.4.  Is it easy to find?

Sorry but I can't find the raw 7.4 update.  Perhaps i have been looking in the wrong place but I have gone through Elements 11 help , updates and it shows me that I have 7.1  in the elements sub title as you suggested earlier but I can't see how to download 7.4.  If I cut my losses and go for the elements 2022 will that support my Nikkon 7100?  Best wishes
