Elements 12 won't open after update on OS X Yosemite

I've been using Elements 12 on the same Mac for years. After a system update yesterday, Elements won't open. The icon in the toolbar just bounces repeatedly, and when opening from the control panel, I get as far as the welcome screen, but no further. As I choose the editor from the welcome screen, the program briefly loads and the just settles on the welcome screen. That's it. No amount of restarts have changed it.

Anyone familiar with this, and how do I fix it?

Try deleting the prefs.

Quit Elements

Launch Finder and go to your Username >>Library >> Preferences

Send the following files/folders to the trash:

com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings.

N.B. The library is hidden in recent versions of OSX. To get to your user library quickly, from the top menu in Finder, click “Go” whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key and it will appear for you to choose.
