Hi
I was just importing pictures from my new Panasonix Lumix camera and the RAW format was not reckognized. However on checking updates I have no prompt to update, no plug-in in the common Adobe folder. How do I get Elements to include it/update it? (W10, 64 bit)

Which Panasonic Lumix camera model exactly? There are dozens.
Cameras supported by Camera Raw
The probable answer is that there are no Camera Raw updates for your Elements 13 since the software is too old.
Your options are to pay to upgrade to Elements 15 or convert your Raw files to DNG format using the free Adobe DNG converter. Then edit the DNG files in Elements 13.

Hi,
Not surprisingly but very odd that I could not find any clear guidance in the Adobe on-line support. Hard to structure answers only pertinent to the product in question...
The Camera is DMC-T100
Thanks for your quick feed back

There is no T100. I presume you mean the TZ100?
The TZ100 requires Camera Raw 9.5 or later which is only compatible with Elements 14 and Elements 15.
So you'll either have to upgrade or convert to DNG.

You are are right of course.TZ100 🙂
However why was there no info on compatability with Elements 13 when looking at Camera raw - there is a pice missing in Adobe documentation...
However - thanks - resolved I guess

Faq:
FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
The problem is that people want to use the raw format without knowing anything about it. Don't expect camera manufacturers to stress the fact that they issue a totally now format with each camera model; that means upgrading your current editing application or using the software bundled with your camera.
Apart from the above Elements faq, the question is one of the most asked:
- in the Camera Raw forum:
- in the feedback forum:

Refer to this table which is linked at the bottom of the Camera Raw supported cameras page

I fail to understand why the answers (to most commonlt asked questions) in the db is not sorted by product, likel Elments. If Camera Raw is not a plug-in it should not com up if a search for RAW information pertinent to E13. If RAW handling in "in-built" in E, the Camera Raw pluf-in info is not relevant and only confusing. I do not doubt all info threre...somewhere.
However I guess the I have got the most common answer as well - by a new version 🙂

Camera Raw IS a plug-in for Photoshop Elements.
A more fully-featured version of Camera Raw is also a plugin for Photoshop and Bridge.
Raw handling is only "in built" in Lightroom. That's why there are two columns in this table - Camera Raw version required and Lightroom version required.

As I recall - the Camera Raw is described as a plug- in and residing in the Adobe Common folder...that is probably true for other versions than Elements. At least there is none in my folder - which leads me to believe that the descriptions used by Adobe to support people like me could be better written and structured.
