Presume you mean Photoshop Elements 14? Premiere Elements 14 is for video.

  • Raw files are processed by the Camera Raw plugin which is used by Photoshop Elements to read the data in Raw files.
  • Raw files are different for every single camera make and model.
  • Adobe has to frequently update the Camera Raw plugin to be able to read Raw files from all new cameras as they enter the market.

  • Raw files are different for every single camera make and model.
  • Adobe has to frequently update the Camera Raw plugin to be able to read Raw files from all new cameras as they enter the market.
  • Different versions of Camera Raw are compatible with different versions of Photoshop Elements.
  • In addition, Photoshop Elements is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 9.5. There are no further updates for Elements 14.

Cameras supported by Camera Raw

The Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II was first supported in Camera Raw 9.9 which is only supported in Elements 15 and later versions. You'll never be able to open Raw files from that camera in Elements 14.

Options:

  1. Pay to upgrade to Elements 2018 - if your computer is compatible. You can then open those Raw files and edit them, or
  2. Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter. Convert all Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNG files (not the Raw files) in Elements 14. An extra step for you but no extra cost.

I converted the Olympus ORF files to DNG. You need to download the Adobe DNG converter. Elements 14 does not support ORF files

.ORF is not a format. Each new camera comes with its own new, unique format. .ORF is a family of raw formats from Olympus.

That is explained in the faq in my last post.

Your .orf files are from the Olympus E-M10 Mark III.

This table says those .orf files were first supported in Camera Raw 6.10.

This table says Camera Raw 6.10 is not compatible with Elements 15

Camera Raw plug-in and Adobe application compatibility

So your choices are to pay to upgrade to Elements 2018 or (free option) convert to DNG then open the DNG files in Elements 15.

This camera is too new to be supported by PSE15. You can either:

- pay the update to PSE2018 AND use the menu Help >> Update to update to the required ACR 10 module

- download the free DNGconverter (see John Waller's post above).
