Elements 15 and the Nik Collection

New Here ,
Sep 22, 2017 Sep 22, 2017

Until recently I was operating on Elements 12 with "The Nik Collection" as a plug in. This worked fine and I experienced no problems. However following a failure of Elements 12 I replaced it with 15.

Having uninstalled 12 I also uninstalled Nik. I then loaded 15 followed by the most recent version of Nik downloaded from Google, and this is when the problem started.

I started playing with the tools in Elements without any noticeable problems. Then having an image open in Elements I opened Nik and Color Efex 4.  Whilst it was attempting to upload the image the whole screen flashed continuously, despite that it was uploading. It did upload but the colour image was displayed in B&W. I then picked a filter at random and colour was restored.

Following further attempts it has settled down to open in colour but the flashing has remained. When used  filters appear to work correctly .

The overall situation is now that Analog Efex Pro 2 also flashes during upload but once complete works OK, Color Efex 4 as above, all others work correctly with no problems.

There is one further problem which is whenever I exit Elements a pop up appears on my screen saver which says "Selective palette error" XML parsing error: Not formed (invalid token) at line 1

There is one for each adjustment I have made within Elements and Nik and it seems that merely opening Elements produces one and that is without an image.

So is the problem with  Nik or is it with Elements itself or a combination of both.
