Elements 15 Organizer PSE 15 on Mac hangs after startup

Folks

I am running PSE 15 on MacOS OS X El Capitan (10.11.6).  I have 16GM memory and over 100GB spare flash disk space.  The system is up to date with Apple updates.  All has been running reasonably happily for a few months since I upgraded (apart from importing photos from my iPhone .. but that is another story, I have a workaround.  I now have a startup issue that has appeared in the past week: I start Elements Organizer, it initialises ok, the GUI appears ok, populates the screen with my latest photos ... then just hangs.  The hang starts as soon as I go to press a tab or menu item in PSE 15.  So I can't do anything in PSE 15 at all now.

I haven't done much with PSE 15 in the past few weeks (I have been using the video editor, Premiere Elements most recently).  The last time I used Elements I am pretty sure it asked me if I wanted to download the latest Camera Raw plugins, which I did.

I see there is a Log.txt file in one of the directories that looks like a log for the last time Elements was run (somewhere under ApplicationSupport), this all looks fine to me, no errors that stand out - it' seems in a wait loop (as you'd expect) when I have to Force Kill PSE 15 Organizer.

Does anyone have any advice on what to try to see what is going wrong?

Many thanks

Stephen

I did manage to figure this out.  just for the record, it was my laptop security software that seemed to be causing the hang.  I have Norton Security with Application Blocking on.  This caused no hassle at all previously, but clearly something changed in either PSE 15 or more likely the Norton Security that introduced the conflict.

Phew!
