I have been using Elements 6 on Windows Vista for many years. I recently bought a Mac and want to move my Catalog to it. I found a procedure on the Adobe Help site. It said to download Elements 15 for the PC and convert the catalog to it, then back up the Catalog and restore it on the Mac. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it this way because Windows Vista is no longer supported by Elements. I had access to a Windows 10 machine, so I loaded Elements 15 on it, then restored my backup from Elements 6 to the Windows 10 machine. This all worked fine. I then did a backup from the Windows 10 machine and attempted to restore it on the Mac. I get a message that the restore completed successfully, but the little circular icon that indicates that an app is working comes on and stay cycling and nothing further happens, ie. it never comes back. I have a fairly large Catalog, a little over 20,000 photos, so I tried leaving it running for about 24 hours, just in case it was slow. The elements app still had not come back. I tried disabling the face recognition feature, but still got the same result.
Any suggestions as to what I could try next?

Hi Eric,
Thanks for posting in Adobe forums.
I can understand you are not able to see anything even after converting your catalog from Version 6 to Version 15.
Can we try following steps:
- Download & install trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to 15.
- You need to convert your catalog file of Version 6 to firstly Version 8 and that same converted file to Version 9 & so on.
- After you convert your catalog with Version 14 please use that same catalog file in Version 15 & convert it.
- Open the latest converted file in Version 15.
- Please click here to download Version (11 to 14)
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Regards
Dhananjay

Thanks for your reply, but I am not sure that you understood my problem. I have a fully functional Elements 15 on the Windows 10 computer, with all of my photos, albums and tags in place. My problem is when I backup that version of my catalog on the Windows 10 machine and try to restore the backup on my Mac.

Thanks. That helped quite a bit. I now have all of my tags and albums appearing. The only problem I have left is that none of my pictures are connected to the correct files. When I look at one of them, the location in the filename is still the location from the Windows machine. I can reconnect them a file at a time, which seems to find the other files in the same folder. However, I have over 20,000 pictures in many folders. Is there a way that I can reconnect them all in one step? They are still in the same subdirectories, it is just the main folder that is different.
