Elements 2018 Can't find faces

Trying out the new "open closed eyes" feature of Elements 2018 but it doesn't seem to be able to even find obvious faces. Is this version junk as I've read? Yesterday I had to select the face which takes up about half of the frame and delete the background. Once there was only a face and shoulders. it figure out there was a face and the new feature worked very well. Today I did the same thing to the same picture and it can't find the face. What's going on here? Does anyone know how to get this to work? And how do I email/chat/call Adobe. Oh nevermind, I think they make you pay to talk about their defective products - nice business plan. Affinity Photo for me....
