Elements 2018 Crashing

New Here ,
Jul 21, 2018 Jul 21, 2018

Having recently returned from hols I tried to do some work with several JPEG images.

When attempting to create a collage- Elements crashed, when attempting 'Smart Fix', two messages were displayed -

1 - Could not complete your request because the active layer is empty, and

2 - Could not complete the command because there is not enough memory (RAM)

These messages have not been seen before over the many years I have been using the various versions of Elements installed on the many iterations of Windows. Currently the 64 bit version of Windows 10 is on my PC, with 4gb RAM and 1gb Graphics. In an attempt to rectify the issue, Elements has been uninstalled and reinstalled- same problem exists. Is this a compatibility issue with the latest update of Windows , (has not occurred in previous versions), and is Adobe going to come up with a fix?

A different image editing program has since been installed, (far less expensive and fairly comprehensive), and no problems have been experienced to date in editing the same images.
