There are two Mark IVs, a 1D and a 5D, but both were supported with the previous version of Elements once it was updated beyond Camera Raw 9.7, so I would expect the new version of PSE2018 to work ok, not having tried it myself.

Why not get Elements 2018 as a free trial.  I have posted a summary of the new features in Elements 2018 on my blog which also has a trial download link:

Unfortunately those links don't include Photoshop Elements 2018. So, until they are updated, they're not terribly useful.

For example, the 5D Mark IV was first supported in ACR 9.7.

We can infer from the Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications table that, since Elements 15 is compatible with ACR 9.7 then Elements 2018 probably will be too but the table needs to be updated to include Elements 2018 to remove all doubt.

This would be updated soon.

But you can be sure that since Elements 15 supports ACR 9.7 so would Elements 2018 also.

Hope this clears your doubts.

Also, i was wondering why photoshop elements didn't ship with the latest camera raw 9.12.1 and doesn't seem to be offered as an update either.

LATEST

The dot dot release (9.12.1) was for CC users of the Nikon D850. Only that high end model was included. There was no update for Lightroom users. I’m guessing the next major ACR update, expected soon, will include other new camera models. The Mk IV is fully supported.
