I'm running Elements 2018 and using the face analysis to scan a library of roughly 150,000 photos. It has taken several weeks of 24/7 PC operation and I'm only at 76% complete. No matter what settings I change and cannot get Elements to fully utilize the processing power of the PC. Changes have been made to the virtual memory allocation, resource priority, and moved the photo library to an SSD from network storage (standard spinning disk). Not matter what I change - Elements never uses more than 16-17% of processor resources. Any guidance would be appreciated.
My PC is a fairly new Dell Alienware Aurora R8 running Win10 (1909). i7-0700K processor running at 4.38GHz, 16gb of ram, NVMe M.2 ssd, NVIDIA GTX 1660 with 6gb, photo library lives on a separate SSD installed via SATA.
Have something to add?
