Elements 2018 Organizer stopped showing pictures.

My Elements 2016 was showing the oictures as  it should then I imported some other photos from a cd. after that it only shows an an hour glass unless I click on each one

An hourglass will show up while the program is updating the thumbnails.  Once the thumbnails have been drawn, does the hourglass appear for the same photo?

no the pictures will only appear after I click on them each time I open the Organizer
