I have a CD with Elements 7 with the serial number which I purchased several years ago and having successfully used on my previous laptop.
I have a new laptop with no optical drive. The help chat line gave me a download link for Elements 7 which downloadedand installed ok.
But it is saying the serial number is not valid. The help line asked me to re-install (twice), which made no difference. The help line say I should put the question here as they can't help.
Any advice much appreciated.
Patrick

Hi Patrick did you originally purchase the full product or as an upgrade from an earlier version?
Does the re-installed PSE7 run as a trial?

I bought it as a full product on CD and used it fine on my previous Windows 10 laptop. No updates/upgrades.
It will start and run as a 30 day trial fine.

I'm not sure if it applies in your case, but I do remember something about some Adobe software that was purchased on a disc had different serial numbers that were not usable on downloaded versions.
You can try copying the disc files to a flash drive on another computer and try to install that way after uninstalling the application you downloaded. You can also try using an external disc drive.

Hi Bob, thanks. I think it must be something like that. The helpline people are being pretty unhelpful and just keep telling me to buy a subscription. I guess that's the script they have been given.
I think I will give Gimp a try.
