I am frustrated and feel like I have been on a merry-go-round (which isn't too merry) trying to find out how to talk to someone or even post a question. I am new to forums etc.
I have Elements 7. Just bought the new Dell Inspiron 15 series 7000. Windows 10 I think! Loaded the Elements from my old computer and Elements looks funky. I am an artist and mainly use Elements to crop photos. I could upload a photo to Elements but the cropping tool looked very funky and everything was hard to maneuver. What can I do? Thanks for listening!

Hi Claire,
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
Loaded the Elements from my old computer and Elements looks funky.
I could upload a photo to Elements but the cropping tool looked very funky and everything was hard to maneuver.
I would request you to please upload the screenshot of the same and explain what you find issue with. This would be helpful in understanding the issue better and assisting you accordingly.
Thanks,
Arshla

Thank you. I will try to get help doing this tomorrow. Not sure you could
see the problem. The crop tool is distorted and very small. It kinda works
but the configuration of the crop tool is different. Cheers Claire

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10... works for some, not for others
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)
Owners of old programs simply have problems with Windows 10... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Microsoft changed their operating system and THAT is why your old program won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Microsoft issues a Win10 update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working after the initial Win10 upgrade will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

Thank you so much. I will try your suggestions tomorrow. You really know
your stuff. I was afraid there was an issue with old program but it was so
hard trying to get to where I could even ask a question. This is all new
to me. Cheers Claire

Don't know if you can see the curser in the crop tool is funky. I tried
the suggestions as far as I could understand them. I did select
administrator from the Elements icon, didn't go to the forums website
because I was afraid I wouldn't understand that. Thanks for trying to
help. Bottom line I guess I will try to reinstall program once then buy a
new Elements. I am assuming that the newest Elements program would be
compatible with Win10. Cheers. Claire Harkins

Hi Claire,
Seems like you have posted the screenshot but unfortunately it's not visible in the post. Please try reposting.
And yes the latest version, Photoshop Elements 15, is compatible with WIN 10.
You can check the system requirements here: System requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements
Hoping this to be helpful.
Thanks,
Arshla

Thank you both for trying to help. I don't really understand these message
boards and just bought a new version of elements because I really think my
old version is incompatible with my new computer. With the comment that any
new MS updates could again mess up elements, it was just too much. I tried
to go to the link to mark your answer correct so you would get some credit,
but couldn't even figure out how to do that! Sorry. Baby steps.
