Hi
I am trying to edit my photos in Elements 9, but when I go to the tabs at the top and click on them, eg: file, edit, etc., I am unable to see what is in the drop down boxes.
This is also the case for my Elements 9 organiser.
I recently performed the Windows 10 update, but the problem started about 2 weeks before I did the update.
The two below images are from Elements 9 Editor. I now have no words in the menu fields when I drop them down.
The two below images are from my organiser. The view is at full screen, but as you can see where the words File, Edit, etc. are, they have been chopped in half and unreadable. The same goes for when I am able to get a menu to drop down it is all bunched up and unreadable.
Is there a fix for any of this or an update for the software??? Since I have had Elements 9 from 2011 I have never received an update, even though I regularly check for them.
I need to edit over 300 images for a client in the next week and with all these issues it is not possible to do so.
Is there a way to reinstall the software onto my computer and not loose any edits that I have previously done and is it possible to do it with out the original CD? When I installed Elements onto my computer I did it via CD. At the moment I am not near the CD for another month or more.
Buying the latest version of Elements is also not an option at this point in time.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Well, that didn't last long.
Only got a few hours out of it.
The problem has resurfaced. Looks like I will be uninstalling and reinstalling until I get my project done. This may take some time.
You can download the free 30-day, fully functioning, PSEv.15. Hopefully that is sufficient time for you to complete your project. Then, if you like it you can purchase the license subsequently.

WOW.
Thank you so much for the answer.
It took a while to read through all the answers, but eventually I found the best answer that might have suited and it appears that I have.
I downloaded the Elements 9 software again and this has worked.
I was a bit stressed out when I had to uninstall the program as I did not know if I would have to re-enter all my library again.
But as you know, being a staff member, all my library and edits previously done have come back just as they were.
Thank you so much and I plan to buy the most up to date software ASAP when I can afford it, all thanks to your answer. You're a life saver.
Now to get on to editing all the client images before my deadline hits.

What happens after the 30 day trial if I don't buy the licence?
Does it revert back to elements 9 or does it just cease to be usable?
I know the software is cheep but I am a bit tight on for a while.

Both versions are independent and can reside on the same machine concurrently.
After 30 days v.15 will cease to function, and, your v.9 will remain crippled.
As for price, shop around. Adobe will probably extend an "upgrade" discount to you as owner of a prior version of the software. Frequently Amazon or one of the big box stores have sales which beat the Adobe price.

Cheers for the info.
much appreciated, I shall look into this.
And by "crippled" I hope you mean that the same issue that I have been having will persist. In which case I shall just carry on uninstalling and reinstalling until I can upgrade.
Cheers again.

It looks like the latest version of Windows updates have now fixed this issue.
Windows update, Windows 10, version 1709.
Many restarts of my computer and not a single glitch with Elements 9.
