I am not a computer whiz. I have Adobe Elements and use it to create graphics for scrapbooking and collage projects.
I recently installed a Canon G6000 printer. It prints fine. The newtork connection is fine. Every test worked fine. But when I go into Elements and try to print anything in the PHOTO EDITOR, it will not recognize the new printer as the default printer. I receive an error message that reads: X because the default printer could not be opened.
This error message comes up whether I am printing a jpeg, tiff, gif...very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the video editor, Premiere Elements, forum. You might get better help in the Photoshop Elements forum.
That said, do you get a list of printers available when you print a photo? I did a google search for "canon g6000 printer network setup" and found articles suggesting a precise "WiFi" setup procedure.

What OS and version of Elements are you using?
Do you have other printers installed on your computer? And are you using the printer with a wif-fi connection? Does the printer show up in the available printers, and if so, are you simply asking to make it the default printer? In other words, can you select the printer from the Select Printer dropdown menu?
First, try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.
If that doesn't work, try installing the print driver from Canon rather than the print driver provided by Microsoft.

As Greg has already suggested, please try resetting your preferences. Also, please try reconnecting your printer to see if it helps. Let us know if you still encounter this issue after following these steps.
