Elements organiser upgrade

Explorer ,
Oct 30, 2018 Oct 30, 2018

Will photo tags from elements 11 organiser be transferred when I upgrade to Elements 19. (I tagged lots of individual plant names in elements11) Can I collapse version sets in the Elements 19 organiser? I have just downloaded free trial of elements 19. (on my iMac) It has found all my photos (about 7000) but it is very slow to scroll through them. Will this improve when I delete Elements 11?

ThanKate for any help

Hi,

Yes, you can convert your catalog to Elements 19, and all the tags will remain intact.

Yes, you can collapse version sets in Elements Organizer. Expand the version set. Right click on an image in version set. Select version set-> Collapse items in version set.

Thanks,

Somya

Thank you for the information. Actually I see I downloaded edits for my photos which means they appear as images rather than version sets (version set appears light grey when I right click on an edited image). Can these still be collapsed?

I can see that Elements 19 is going to be good once I have sorted it. However my main problem now is that it is definitely not running smoothly with my iMac (Mac OS Sierra version 10.12.6) I had this problem with Elements 11 but it was manageable. However now I have to do something. Elements 19 is REALLY slow. When I originally bought my present iMac I transferred Elements 11 from the old iMac to this one. At that time I sent a question to The Forum  and received a reply from Bob Peru. He said Elements did not migrate well from one computer to another and :

"If that is the case , you will need to completely uninstall all Adobe applications and run the Adobe Cleaner Tool:

Use the Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Can you please tell me if this is still up to date advice and confirm the above link is the one to use.

I have backed up my Elements11 catalogue and all the photos on two separate hard disks.

When I have completed the above can I restore the catalogue to Elements 11 then upgrade to Elements 19 or should I start from scratch with Elements 19 in which case I will do some sorting first?

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Inga.
