In Photoshop Elements 14 in filters>distort>liquefy when I make changes and click OK, the changes are lost when the photo returns to the original work page. After not having experts answer my posts, I downloaded a trial version of Elements 15 and the filters>distort> liquefy works fine. Do I have to re download myElements14? Do I have to have my serial # on hand?

Before you do that, reset preferences to default. To do that, go to Edit>Preferences>General and reset on next launch.
If that does not fix the filter and you wish to uninstall and reinstall PSEv.14, be sure to deactivate via the Help menu.
You will need the serial number.

I assume experts are like me: they can't reproduce your problem. I think you would have got reports of similar behaviour if that was a bug in the program.
My advice:
- try the usual solution to reset preferences before trying to uninstall and reinstall. When you don't know why a feature does not work as usual, it's an empirical solution which works very often. If you have to unsinstall and reinstall on the same computer, you don't need to 'sign out = deactivate' before uninstalling, but you can do it to feel safer. The serial number is available on your Adobe account if needed.
- You could give more info about your system to exclude hardware problems, but since the filter works in Elements 15, not sure that could help.
