I laboriously entered captions onto hunderds of pics. I created a slideshow and the captions do not appear. Not only that, but the field does not seem to accept a copy/paste. Is it true that all captions have to be re-typed even though the data is there on the pic? Seems hard to beleive after all these years of Elements.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Yes, AFAIK, captions cannot be transferred from metadata to the Slideshow Editor captions. And, at least on Windows 11, it seems that Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V copy/paste is not accepted.
BUT, it is possible to use the Windows key+V combination to enter text from the Windows clipboard to the caption text box. I don't know what the Windows clipboard limit is (perhaps it is dependent on RAM), but it is possible to copy several captions from the Organizer caption field to the clipboard using Ctrl+C. You can then use the Windows Key+V option to enter text in the Slideshow Editor's caption text field. It may save you a little work.
