Elements - you have 5 days left to re-activate this software

Hi,

I'm a user of Elements 6, first installed back in 2009. I cannot remember how it was installed.

After a restart of my Mac Elements is giving me the message in the title.

I have phoned the UK support but was told 'we do not support that old a version on line, go to the forums', so here I am

In the window of my app I can see the serial number and activation number and that I need to do an activation type of Repair

It offers me six boxes in a horizontal line to input an Authorisation Code and then I guess I'd be up and running again.

Question: how do I get such a code please?

Cheers

If you originally registered your product the serial number will be stored in your Adobe Account.

Sign in with your original Adobe ID (email address & password) and choose Plans on the top menu strip.

Then view your products from purchase history. Every registered application should be shown with serial numbers.

To see a list of your registered products and their serial numbers, go to My Account

Thanks but as noted in my first post I have the serial number.

I've checked in my Adobe Account and it shows the same serial number that the app is offering me and the fact that I registered it 2/27/2009

What I need - I presume it can only come from Adobe - is an Authorisation Code to re-activate the app.

Any help welcome - Adobe, are you listening?

Thanks

You obviously have an internet connection so phone activation should not be necessary.

When the software launches as a trial do you see a button "License this software"

It is normally sufficient to enter the serial number commencing 1057

Have you installed the software on more than 2 computers?

If so, its not a question of licencing but of activation.

Only Adobe staff can de-activate and re-activate.

You may need to return to support. Click the link at the top of this page and scroll down to individual.

Start an on-line chat session and make clear you are not looking for support for an older product but help with activation.

Thanks for your message. Glad to hear Adobe reached out. Apple has already started issuing warnings about older software incompatibility with the next OS update after Mojave. So you may have inevitably hit a problem going forward bearing in mind your software and OS is somewhat dated. I always recommend keeping your OS up to date, where possible, for security reasons. Staying up to date is one of the advantages of Adobe subscription software like the photography or Lightroom plans but I recognize subscription does not suit everyone, especially those doing infrequent photo editing.
