p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
This is a known issue, particularly (but not necessarily) for computers that don't meet the program's minimum requirements.
Until Adobe comes out with a fix, the workaround is to roll back the program to before the recent update, and to turn off the automatic updates. A download link for the pre-update version and further instructions can be found in this post.
