Event photos not opening

I have Elements 15 and just recently the photos that I have place in event files will not open. Any ideas as to what would cause this?

What do you mean by "the photos that I have place in event files"?

In the organizer, the 'events' category has nothing to do with placing or storing, it's about 'labelling' files and writing that information in a catalog.

Under the events tab is where I have categorized photos. I use to be able to double click on any given event and the photos that are in that particular event would then display and I could edit, print etc. I am no longer able to double click and have the photos open up.
