I have inadvertently messed up my Elements 2018 software.

To elimate something unwanted in a photo, I have always been able to use the lasso to encircle it, then I hit edit/ fill selection/ OK and it would disappear, replaced by the surrounding color/ image.

Now when I hit fill select the area within the lasso is white instead of matching the surrounding color. Obviously I have unwittingly changed some setting.

Can you help me get back to the original capability? I use it often, so I am upset by my mistake.

Thanks very much.

With help from Google, I solved this problem by resetting to default. I had not been set on content aware. Thanks for your help!
