frequency separation under 15

New Here ,
Jan 22, 2017 Jan 22, 2017

I have just discovered that ps15 has no "apply image" choice under Image tab. Is there a similar function instead? As frequency separation technique so much talked about depends on this "apply image" button.

Thanks, Kelly. Great article but it seems Adobe Elements 15 simply has no high pass filter nor frequency separation. This 15 I suspect either is too simplified or more advanced by replacing apply image or high pass with new tools. I am just learning how to use ps using elements 15. Hope this is not a trash software compared to cc.

Best regards,

Zhou

Dear Kelly,

In elements 15, there is no simple brush (smart brush as called) nor current layer it seems. Any alternative? Also, with high pass filter, is there need for Gaussian blur on low layer? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Zhou

Here is a link to an old post about a 'quick degrunge' tutorial (1969).
That works with Elements.

RetouchPRO Tutorials

You'll find alls sorts of other skin retouching techniques in that RetouchPRO forum.

If you want to apply a frequency separation tutorial specially written for Photoshop, you may want to invest in the very affordable add-on Elements+

About Elements+

It gives you the 'Apply' command and has a script for frequency separation.
