Help w/moving part of an image off the original

I just got the 2025 version of PE but I havent used Elements for 15 years and the 2025 version is quite different than the old version I used to use.

Im stuck right now on this:

I've scanned a number of small images in one scan. I need to be able to move each individual small image off the original scan and use that as a stand alone image. But I cant for the life of me remember how to do it. I've tried a number of different strategies but so far nothing works.

There relly isn't any reason to purchase an app to do it, but I did.
I didn't care for the results that much so I bought a program that does a  fantastic job of it.

I bought an app, scanspeeder pro to do just that:  separate images i've scanned, typically 3 postcards into individual files.  It has replaced my beloved paperport.

It's unusual that that app allows installation on up to 5 computers.

I downloaded it when I had a project of scanning in about 500 old post  cards-- it saves as a jpg, png, and you have the option of creating a TIFF as well.   It's Interface is very simple, doesn't take up much ram when running.   I used it alot when I needed it, now I use it every couple of months typically when my wife hands me a bunch of photos.
The program is not affected at all by my printer/scanner (an epson et2803) being on wifi- scans ar 300 ppi were just fine. 

Many of the postcards were in old deteriorating albums-- out of 450 or so I've only edited about 25 for color and whatnot- many are 70 to 80 years old, classics from a time long gone.

That software you mention, does that work well on old black and white photos as well?

Absolutely-   I've scanned in about 500 old black and white family photos.   I looked at it and went with the pro version for the higher bit black and scanning.  Pretty sure I scanned everything in at 600ppi-  I rreally like that is also automatically creates an uncompressed version as well.   each on of those of the postcards was around 26MB uncompressed, which is about average.      

I used paperport14 for years- I honestly don't understand how it's so much faster, but it is.
