How can I assign an organizer note to multiple photos?

Photoshop Elements 15 Organizer permits you to add a Note to accompany any photo. The place to do this is under Information/Notes: This is fine, but it doesn't permit me to assign the same note to many different photos.

If this is so, it's an awful design flaw.

I often have a dozen or so photos of some place or event that I could easily write the exact same note for, but to do that, I have to open each individual photo and repeatedly add that same note. You're allowed to assign a caption to as many photos as you wish; you're allowed to assign a tag to as many photos as you wish; why not the Notes??

Hi Don,

You can add caption to multiple images in one go as follows:

1. Select the images,

2. Go to Edit menu.

3. Select Add Caption to Selected Items...

4. Type in your caption and click OK.

This will add same caption to all the images.

Thanks for your response Arshla. However I already assign the same caption to many photos at one time; it's the inability to do the same with Notes (at the right side of the screen under Information/General/Notes) that has me frustrated. Don

The ability to assign a note (a possibly very long text) to a file is an old, specific feature of Elements. The general use for today's editors (including Lightroom) is to assign a caption, which can be as long as you wish.

Incidentally, I rarely use notes and I never have to assign one to multiple files at the same time; you may have different requirements. If I had to, I could:

- paste the text in each individual file if they are just a few

- Assign a common tag with a note to your selected files.

- If the files are in a stack, I would paste the text on a new jpeg and add it to the stack.

I don't think it's likely that Adobe will change anything to that situation. If some day you want to migrate to Lightroom or any other software, you'll be happy if you have used captions instead of notes. Captions are a standard and easy to share.
