How can I get an image to fully fit the page when I hit 'fit on page'. Editor mode - PSE 14?

When I open an image in Editor mode I have to zoom it to correctly and fully fit the page.  How can I cause it to open at the correct magnification level so I don't have to zoom it every time?  ( Elements 14).

You might also reset the pse 14 editor preferences and see if that makes a difference.

In the pse 14 Editor go to Edit>Preferences>General (windows) or Adobe Photoshop elements Editor>Preferences>General (mac)

click on Reset Preferences on next launch and restart the pse 14 editor.

Thank you..... you've stopped me from pulling out my hair, however I have another small issue. When I try to select and use the various tools...... clone, selection brushes etc. I only get a small cross and not the actual tool.  It's driving me crazy!!!   It's probably a very easy fix but how can I get the actual tool and not a just a small cross?  Thank you.

Another little issue. I wish to re-size however the choice of dimensions is in:

Percent,

Inches,

Centimetres,

Millimetres,

Points,

Picas, and

Columns,

but not Pixels.  I wish to re-size using dimensions in Pixels. How can I do this please?

Resizing in pixels is 'resampling'. That can only be done if the 'resample' checkbox is checked.

In the Image Size dialog click on Resample Image along with Constrain Proportions and then you can change the Pixels

under Pixel Dimensions.
