Someone has sent me a large 11mb PSD file.
When I open it, it contains the layout and all the image the client wants to use on their web page, including all images.
However, I don't know how to take each image from that one worksheet, and extract each one to a separate file. I have to ask them to email me each image/file separately.
Surely there is a way to copy and paste or "save selected item"??

Open the Layers panel, select the layer containing the image and right-click on it. Choose "Duplicate Layer", and in the next dialog box choose "New" for the Document destination. Then save that new document.

Open the PSD from full edit.
You can turn individual layers on and off using the eye symbol and then re-save.

There is a new service introduced into Adobe's Creative Cloud called "Extract" that should help you extract assets as well as other information from a PSD. To use it:
- Login to creative.adobe.com/files
- Upload the PSD
- Click on the Extract tab.
- Select an item to extract and choose a format: PNG, JPG or SVG.
This service in Adobe's Creative Cloud is free to all users. You just need a login. If you want to try it without a login, check out: http://www.adobe.com/go/extract_tweet1

After I've extracted to the cloud, how do I download those files back to my computer?

In Extract, after you have extracted the asset to the cloud, you will see it in the Assets tab. Clicking on an asset will download it locally.

Excuse me.
I have the problem.
I don't see Extract tab in my Asset.
Thanks you for your help !
You are probably in another software like Photosop CC: Elements has not 'Assets' management (you are posting in the Elements forum).
