How to change default setting in Elements 14?

Community Beginner ,
Feb 05, 2018 Feb 05, 2018

How do I change the default setting for .pdf documents to "not" open in Adobe Photoshop Elements 14.

Specifically, I'm looking to change this default setting within Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 itself.

Thanks for any tips.

Hi,

As far as I know this is a function of the operating system and connot be changed from within PSE.

Which operating system are you running on?

If you are using Windows 10, then Go to Start -> Settings -> Apps

Select Default Apps on the left and scroll down to Choose default application by file type and click on it

Scroll down to .pdf click on the right side to choose the app you want to set as default.

I'm on a Mac and the two os methods to change this default setting are not working for me.

So I wanted to see if such a change could be made directly within PSE, but I guess not.
