How to change text with styles in a psd file

New Here ,
Feb 10, 2025 Feb 10, 2025

I am attaching a file that was free and trying to change the text to have different words.  The forum doesn't allow me to attach a psd file, so I am attaching a jpg file and a second file that shows the layers in the psd file.  I can see all the layers but I haven't been successful in actually being able to type different text on the text layer.  Can anyone explain to me what I should be doing?

Thank you so much.type_here.jpgTypeHereStyles.jpg

Try double-clicking on the thumbnail of the top layer (named double click her to change text).  That should select the text in the layer and you can start typing.

Are the many layer copies a result of you clicking in the wrong place or are those layers in the original?

All of the layers came with the original file.  When I double click the text layer, it just creates a new text layer so it's possible that some of the extra text layers were created by me.  If I try to move it above all the formatting layers, none of the extended formatting is applied to the new text.  I haven't been able to actually change the Type Here text.  I'm going to try and name the origiinal psd file a word doc.  Maybe you can change it to a psd file and see what I am seeing.

Thanks.

Brandi
