New Here ,
Dec 21, 2018 Dec 21, 2018

I copied files from an edrive into an album in photoshop Elements Organizer 14.0.0.0.  Next time I opened the program they were gone with the message "No media available Please clear applied filter and try again.  I don't have a clue.  I tried uploading the pics again but it said they were in the program.

How do I access the filter and clear It.

Can you explain exactly what you did?

Can you tell more about your edrive? Is it a Web storage like Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive?

You never "copy" files from any kind of media to an 'album' in the organizer.

The first thing you do with the organizer is either to:

- get files from camera or card reader.

- get files from  files or folders (even from an external USB drive)

In the first case, the organizer uses the 'downloader' which uploads (copies) your photo files to a folder in your computer (not to an album)

Then, all the copied files are scanned so that their location and exif info are stored in a catalog.

In the second case, there is nothing to download (copy), the files are already there in your computer, the organizer only references the files in the catalog.

In both cases, you can manage, browse and organize your files using the catalog database. One of the important features that let you group files in a logical order is the 'album' (called 'collection' in older versions or in Lightroom). Albums are simple lists of pointers to the information about each of the files. Imagine it's a 'playlist'. There is no copy nor duplication.

Next time I opened the program they were gone with the message "No media available Please clear applied filter and try again.

That message appears when you have done some kind of selection, for instance selected a subfolder, selected videos, selected keywords, and the item you are after are excluded from those criteria. Be sure you have "All media" displayed in the middle of the top bar. If "all media" is shown on the lift, click on the arrow to select all media. Also be sure you have not excluded photos by selecting 'video' in the media menu.

I don't have a clue.  I tried uploading the pics again but it said they were in the program

The message says that it's possible the file is already in the catalog, not in the program. In that case, you can use the search feature by filename in your catalog. Be sure you have not selected any album or any folder in the left panel. You get the location on your computer drives on the right information panel. If you can find the file, you can see in which album(s) it has been recorded.

This is only a starting point to guide you. Please don't hesitate to ask where you want more details.
