How to get rid of this strange box in my images?

Hello. A translucent rectangular box keeps showing up in my images (see attached, bottom of the screen). Does anyone know why this is here and how I can get rid of it? Thank you!!

It looks like you have engaged the Rectangular Marquee tool. In the toolbox, click on the Hand tool.

Does it go away?

Not sure how to get rid of it, but it looks like it's related to the Open Elements Web at the bottom of the screen directly below the empty rectangle in your screenshot.

What happens if you click on Open Elements Web?

Thank you! For some reason, it disappeared. I'm not sure if it shows up at specific times, or for whatever reason, the bug was fixed. But it's gone now. I'll try the Open Elements Web if it comes up again. Thanks so much for your reply and help!

The problem disappeared, for some reason. I'm relieved, but don't trust that I won't see it again. I'll try that, too, if it comes up again. Thank you!

I believe the Open Elements Web is in beta so it's likely it will come and go.

For example, i had it at one time in pse 2022, then it went away, only to come back after installing pse 2023
