It seems like I need to do the following steps:
1. Install a trial version of 2018 on old PC
2. upgrade my 3 catalogs on old PC to 2018
3. backup each of the 3 catalogs to an external hard drive
4. buy and install Elements 2018 on new MAC
5. hook up external hard drive to MAC
6. restore each of my catalogs to the MAC in Elements 2018 indicating that it should build same folder structure as on old PC
( The backups of the catalogs will include include the actual .jpgs , .mpgs etc. and the .tly file )
In other words the question is do I have to do steps 1 and 2 ?
or is Elements 2018 smart enough to be able to import a backup created in Elements 9 ?
