I'm currently using a Bamboo tablet while using Photoshop Elements 14 and have been for a long while. Today, the program decided to change it up on me by making it necessary to double click in order to use any tool. For example, the paint tool used to begin painting as soon as the pen made contact with the tablet. Now the cursor will just go invisible without painting or interacting with the program whatsoever. I can only get the same results as before if I double click, which is a much bigger inconvenience than it sounds. Needless to say, this is infuriating and I am unable to find any help online. I've tried deleting preferences, resetting everything to default, and reinstalling the software. Currently none of these solutions have fixed my problem so does anyone know what else I can do in order to get PSE to work with my tablet properly again?
Thanks in advance.

Try updating or rolling back the Bamboo driver.

They have stopped updating the drivers for CTH-470 for a couple years now so I don't believe that is the issue unfortunately.

Try System Restore or Time Machine.

I'm having the same issue in Photoshop CC. Works fine until you zoom in then you have to double click to draw a line without it grabbing the page and moving it. This has come out of nowhere and nothing seems to fix it, frustrating isn't the word, my line of work relies on me being able to draw so this is now costing me deadline time and money.

I just solved it for me by setting the tip from Click to keyboard > modifier key and then in the Clicks Column tick Left! Hope that solves it for you too.

I do no use any adobe products, but I do use On1 Photo Raw and this double-clicking was required for me to use any of the sliders in any filters or brushes. I spent a good day trying to get rid of it. Your solution, with the Click changed to keyboard > modifier key -> Left fixed the problem for me. What I don't know is if the problem is Wacom's or Window's. But who cares now that it works.
