I have seen it mentioned that an OLD version of Java must be installed to get an old program working with your new operating system https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US
If that doesn't work, you may not be able to use that old program with your new OS... Owners of old programs simply have problems with Mac El Capitan/Sierra... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Apple changed their operating system and THAT is why your old programs won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Apple issues an update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

A good reason to prefer the 'chat' mode to the phone discussion.

I am a Windows user, so no idea about specific Mac procedures, but if you are using a SD card, why not use a (very affordable) card reader? Cheap, reliable and fast.
By the way, you don't move the SD card contents to Organizer nor Editor, you download them to the disks in your computer. The organizer keeps track of the location on the disk and saves it in a catalog. When you browse your thumbnails, you can choose to 'Open' in the editor.
Alternatively, if you don't use the Organizer, you use the menu File >> Open in the editor to open directly the files on your disk.
