Import von PDF-Dateien (Photoshop Elements 2018) fehlgeschlagen ; bitte helfen

Ich bin von der Version 2012 auf die Photoshop Elements 2018 umgestiegen.

Nun muss ich feststellen, dass PDF-Dateien nicht mehr importiert werden (keine Photo-PDF-Dateien sondern ganz "normale").

Es erscheint die Meldung "Die aufgeführten Dateien werden nicht importiert, weil ihr Dateityp nicht unterstützt wird".

Mit großem Erschrecken muss ich feststellen, dass auch die mit der Version 2012 importierten PDF-Datein im neunen Katalog nicht enthalten sind.

Ein Hinweis ist auch nicht erfolgt.

Muss ich noch etwas nachinstallieren? Ein extra Import-Modul?

Wie bekomme ich die PDF-Dateien in meinen Photoshop Organizer?

Würde mich sehr freuen, wenn mir jemand helfen kann 🙂

Unfortunately, support for managing pdf files in the recent versions of the organizer has been dropped. That is, 'normal' pdf, not 'photoshop pdf' format as the format Elements can save pdf files. Those photoshop pdf are hybrid files combining a normal (Illustrator) pdf format with a .psd one. That type of pdf is still managed.

I totally agree with you that it's a pity pdf management in the organizer has been dropped, but when I reported this in the feedback forum, no other users came to add their votes to that complaint. Not many organizer users seem to care about it.

Hallo Michel,

ich stoße gerade auf dasselbe Problem.

Ich hatte bisher PSE14 und habe nun vor 3 Monaten PSE 2019 installiert. Ich kann meine pdf-Dateien nicht importieren in den Organizer (über den Reiter "alle Dateien"; ich bekomme die Nachricht, "Die Datei wird nicht importiert, weil ihr Dateityp nicht unterstützt wird".)

Ich habe div, mehrseitige Dokumente in der Datenbank, die ich als pdf besser organisieren kann als als Foto-Dateien. (Z.B. Scans von alten mehrseitigen Original-handgeschriebenen Briefen).

Wie der andere Nutzer finde ich auch nicht mehr meine mit PSE14 importierten pdf-Dateien.

Was kann ich tun?

There is nothing new. The organizer can no longer manage pdf files except 'Photoshop-pdf' format.

You might want to keep PSE14 installed to work with its organizer for catalogs with your pdf files. You can have both PSE14 and PSE2019 installed at the same time.

If you want to use both PSE14 and PSE2019 on the same computer, it's obvious that you'll have to decide if you can be happy with:

- using PSE2019 catalogs to take advantage of new features without old pdf files and using PSE14 catalogs only for those old pdf files

- or using only PSE14 catalogs and PSE2019 as an 'external' editor.

You can use PSE14 with PSE2019 as an 'external editor' from the PSE14 organizer. This is not guaranteed in any way by Adobe, but I have tried the following.

1 - Look for the PhotosopElementsEditor.exe in the the Photoshop Elements 2019 folder. Create a copy (PhotoshopElementsEditor - copy.exe) in the same folder.

2 - In the preferences for the organizer in PSE14, set the PhotoshopElementsEditor - copy.exe as the external editor.

This will enable you to take advantage of the new features in PSE2019, such as the latest ACR plugin version 11.1.

Hallo Michel,

das sind keine guten Nachrichten.

da ich in den nächsten zwei Tagen anderes Wichtiges zu tun habe, melde ich mich Sonntag/Montag, falls ich mit der Installation bzw. Rückkonvertierung des betreffenden Katalogs Schwierigkeiten habe.

Aber optimal ist das Ganze nicht.

Ich mußte ja PSE14 aufgeben, weil andere Funktionen damit nicht mehr möglich waren; z.B. Taggen der Orte.

Das muß ich jetzt erst einmal durchdenken, ob ich mir dann nicht andere Probleme mache.

Hallo Michel,

hab noch einmal vielen Dank für den Lösungsvorschlag, den Du aufgezeigt hast.

Da ich aber den Eindruck habe, dass ich mich auf eine dauerhafte Bereitstellung von Funktionen durch PSE nicht mehr verlassen kann, werde ich die nicht mehr anzeigbaren pdf über eine freie Software anzeigen lassen (im Moment Windowes Explorer.) dann habe ich außerdem zwei Standbeine. Gleichzeitig mit PSE 14 und 17 zu arbeiten, birgt vielleicht Fehlerquellen in sich.

PS: Da ich Deinem Lösungsvorschlag nicht folgen möchte, möchte ich Deine Antwort nicht als "hilfreich", also: "Problem gelöst" kennzeichnen. ich hoffe, dass das okay ist.
