I have recently been required to upgrade to PSE 2018 from PSE11. I restored from backup and the program converted the catalog automatically. I used PSE to import new photos from an SD card; the photos did not show up in my organizer. I selected the file location where the photos were stored and imported again; they still did not show. I "revealed" all the photos in that file in the file tree, they are there, but will not show in the organizer. All Media is selected in the organizer.
I deleted the catalog and created a new one by importing all of my photos from my computer. The new photos did show up in the catalog, however this somehow imported several copies of each photo, showing up in the timeline in both the original photo dates as well as again under the creation date of the folders - the date when the folders were restored.
I deleted this new catolog and created another one again from my backup to reduce the mess, but photos that have been imported since installing the new software are still not showing in my timeline. They are there on my computer in their folders, these folders are "watched" but no setting I change nor any amount or type of importing shows these new photos in the organizer. What else can be done?
