Importing multiple images into one large canvas

New Here ,

Although a longtime user of Photoshop, a bit new to Elements. I am looking to create a large sized canvas with a number of photos brought together (all being the same size) - what would the best option be to do this? I create the canvas size when I bring in my first image and resizing it, but things get a little sticky after attempting to move the image to another area and then bring in additional images. Thanks for any input!

My suggestion:

  • Create a new file with your desired dimensions
  • Open the files that you want to include in the canvas
  • Open the Photo Bin
  • With the Move Tool active (Press V), drag the photos from the Photo Bin to the new file that is open in the workspace
  • Each photo will appear in the composite and will have handles that you can use to resize to your desired dimensions.
  • You can also move the photos (which are on separate layers)
  • Confirm each resize and/or move

Initially each photo will fill the dimension of the canvas, so you will probably need to make the layer smaller.  If you change your mind about size or position, select the photo's layer and the sizing handles will appear if the Move Tool is still active.  Otherwise, you can press to activate it again or press Ctrl+T for the Free Transform tool.
