So I am going to post this right here right now. I bought Photoshop Elements 7.0 in April of 2009 with the understanding that I'd always be able to use it no matter what. I get a new computer and I go to insert my serial number provided on my account page on Adobe and it says its invalid. I go to the live chat. They tell me its a proper key to reinstall from the website. I had already done that, my husband had even tried from the original install file and it still didn't work. They tell me to get to the forums here that they have experts available to help. I had already looked and saw those who had the same issue had no responses or told that their key had to be a fake when it was coming straight from Adobe themselves. So I called the number provided about the "fake" serial keys. According to the supervisor agent, because I refused to speak to just a regular agent already livid because of the chat I had when I requested a call from a supervisor and never got one after an hour, it was a proper key so it was a tech support issue. So I get transferred to tech support. Its a valid key but because its an older product they disabled the activation of it, telling me I need to upgrade. Hello!!! I paid $70+ for this product to be able to use it as long as I needed to, on any pc I needed to use in on for the unforeseeable future! I did not spend that money to get told after so long my key would be disabled. EA tried that on my husband on a game saying he couldn't use it on more than a certain amount of PCs when it never said that when he bought the game, they gave him a new serial number for the game. They tell me they can't reactivate the serial or give me another one... but tell me to go and get CS2... What part of I am not paying, and I don't have the money to pay, for another product! I want the product I paid for and I should be able to use it for as long as I need to. Adobe has lost my business and I wanted to include all of this because I decided to check out CS2 and lo and behold CS2 has been deactivated too because its an older product as well! How the heck am I to "upgrade" to that product as they suggested when it is no longer available for activation either! Adobe FIX YOUR CRAP. Fix this or I promise I am going to the BBB, I am going to my local press and I am going to ensure you lose business by informing EVERYONE the crap you are pulling on your paying customers. Here is the link about CS2:

This is a public forum, so nobody here can help with a serial number issue... if the links below don't help, I don't know what any other user can do to help
CS3 and Acrobat 8 activation server is retired see reply #1 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2372929
-you MUST use the special serial number AND the special installer you download, not your originals
-above includes a link to get the special version AND links to help with activation problems
-more information on activation problems with the new version https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2385900
CS2 + Acrobat 7 + Audition 3 (AND EARLIER) Activation Server is gone, so read below

You MUST use the special version and serial number on the page, not your original disc or serial number

That's the thing, this is PSE 7.0 that I am having issues and the page that PSE 7.0 downloads are on say nothing about activation being disabled. I spoke with live support and with Tech support and they said they won't do anything about the serial being deactivated. The only reason I posted in here is because their own customer service agents told me to come here when it had no basis to go in here. I did the installer from their site as well as the original installer that I still had with my serial key and it won't work because they deactivated it. None of the CS and Acrobat stuff work for what is happening but yet what they tell me to do is to get CS2 when it is also deactivated. They had no business deactivating it because I paid money to be able to use that product for as long as I need to!

Oh, for heaven's sake. I'm having the same problem with Photoshop Elements 2000. How dare they deactivate my product key after telling me I'd never have to buy an upgrade again. These monopolies just don't care anymore and put greed above all else. Hope I can find the support chat where they never mentioned it not working again. I was told if I don't install that Cloud crap, all would be well. Now the setup file pulls that thing in and is probably why I can't reinstall my product. I have had a terrible 2 months with my computer trying to do another thing I hate; upgrade when I never wanted to. It destroyed everything, so now I have to reinstall all my software and I rely heavily on Photoshop Elements. I should probably skip talking to snotty tech support reps who have been increasily bad at Adobe. Go straight to the Attorney General, FTC, and other places beyond the BBB. They are paid by companies not to interfere and do little-to-nothing to resolve issues. That puts them on blast, but all these monopolies could care less and know most people don't go out looking at those reports. Attention spans too short. Just UGH ... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Sorry, I meant Photoshop Elements 13, not 2000.
