Is it OK to uninstall PSE9 after upgrading to Photoshop?

After subscribing to Photoshop, I didn't uninstall PSE 9.0.  I'd like to uninstall it to gain space, but unsure if it is needed for Photoshop.  If I do uninstall it, do I need to deactivate (which used to be recommended), or simply download it from my Adobe Account if I want it later.

Photoshop Elements 9 can be safely deleted from your machine without affecting Photoshop CC.  If you think you may want to install Elements 9 in the future, it is best to deactivate it.
