Issues with Camera Raw

Photoshop Elements 2025 freezes when i try to open a camera raw file. However Elements 2022 works perfectl;y with camera raw files. I have tried un-installing The camera Raw plugin and re-installing it but it doesn't make any difference. Appreciate any ideas  to resolve this.

In the Edit>Preferences>Performance dialog, try changing whatever setting you have for Use Graphics Processor for improved performance.

Thanks. I've unticked the 'graphic processor for improved performance' box but it still doesn't open a .nef file or a .drig file

What camera model do you have? 

Is your Graphics Card recognized?  Please show us a screenshot of the Performance dialog box.

If you go to Help>About Plug-in>Camera Raw, what version of Camera Raw is shown?

Camera is a Nikon D750 and Camera Raw version is 17.0.0.2043.

I have reported this to Adobe as a bug. Choosing any Adobe or camera profile causes a crash on Mac and a freeze in Windows.

Regarding your own separate issue  I can confirm that NEF files for that model do open for me in PSE 2025.
